Team Hand to Hand

Having traveled to Haiti for the first time in March, 2014 (that's me on the far right), I find what has remained with me is the hopefulness of its people.

Haitians live a difficut llife filled with Third World problems and yet they persevere with hope, faith, and each other.

The Haitian saying “Piti piti wazo fe niche li” — "Little by little, a bird builds its nest" — characterizes what I saw in the spirit of Haiti and its people.

Through the many and varied efforts of friends, Team Hand To Hand, and St. Jospehine Bakhita parish in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, where I am a parishner, I now enjoy calling a few native Haitians "mwen zamani" - my friend.
