Education is a core focus for Project Esperanza, and even though the "regular" school year starts in mid-August, the summer is filled with opportunities for learning and socialization thanks in large part to volunteers.

Many colleges from across the U.S. and beyond make annual student trips to the D.R. in support of these programs, and the impact they have is without measure.

Enjoy some of the sights of a super summer for everyone at Project Esperanza!

The "Change My Stars" summer camp is focused on teaching English, and the students, teachers and entertainment are featured in videos below.

"This was perhaps Change My Star's best summer yet as far as the quality of the camp we were able to provide. In addition to our short-term volunteers, it's all thanks to our local folks who were here all summer doing everything and anything that needed to be done."

- Caitlin McHale, Project Esperanza Director and Co-founder
